Vanessa is a master’s student in the European and Russian Studies programme, and her focus area is Western and Central Europe. She earned her undergraduate diploma at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she read International Relations. At LSE, using critical and post-structural discourse analysis,  she wrote her thesis on conservative identity articulation in Central Europe. 

In her research, Vanessa focuses on European intellectual history and political theory – particularly Marxist and Critical tradition. At Yale, she is interested in exploring the history and development of human emancipation as a concept in political philosophy.
