Stephan Sveshnikov is a PhD student in history at Yale University. He has written about Russia from medieval times to the modern period: ongoing work includes an ethnography of the Soviet cow (B. taurus); past work includes a study of the daily life of the 1917 Russian Orthodox Church Council and a rereading of the 1490 “Skazanie o Drakule Voevode”. He holds an M.A. in Russian History from St. Petersburg State University as well as a B.A. in History from Yale University.
