Prospective Double Major in Global Affairs and Economics / Benjamin Franklin College

Sophia is a sophomore in Benjamin Franklin college from Frankfurt, Germany, hoping to major in Global Affairs and Economics. She is interested in European-German economic and social policy. Over the summer, she interned for a representative of the German Parliament, where she wrote reports on supreme court hearings, summarized and analyzed new economic bills, and answered citizen questions. She also researched the implications of the German gas crisis in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine as part of an international relations summer course in Geneva. At Yale, she is a part of several international relations-centric organizations. She co-runs program instruction for the teaching organization Hemispheres and is part of the leadership team for the European Horizons chapter at Yale. In the future, she hopes to do economic research on fiscal policies in the European Union.
