Ph.D Student

Pengfei is a doctoral candidate at Yale School of Public Health, specializing in Environmental and Perinatal Epidemiology. Her Ph.D. research project focuses on prenatal exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and child development based on birth cohort data from Denmark, Poland, Ukraine, and Greenland. PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals”, are a large group of endocrine-disrupting compounds that have contaminated thousands of sites in Europe. Pengfei’s project is one of the first multi-country longitudinal cohort studies to examine the independent and joint associations of paternal and maternal prenatal serum-PFAS concentrations with birth outcomes and child behavioral difficulties.
