Nathan Low is a PhD candiate in Yale’s History Department. His general scholarly interests are in twentieth century European intellectual history, modern European Jewish history, the history of liberal internationalism, and the history of European political thought since the eighteenth-century. His dissertation is a study of how transatlantic critical theory was transformed by the ambience of “the End of History” in the 1990s. It offers an analysis of the booming discourses of “cosmopolitanism” , “post-nationalism” and how they emerged in relation to the founding of the EU and the new visions of global law that emerged in that decade.
