Ph.D Student

Kamila Kaminska-Palarczyk is a doctoral student in English at Yale University. Her research concentrates on representations and recursions of sexual violence in both British and Continental medieval literary texts and, in particular, how the mediation of genre itself performs a hermeneutic intervention in reception history. As of late, Kamila focuses on the medieval pastourelle genre—from its Old French iterations until its late arrival in Middle English and Middle Scots poetry—and how these literary artifacts may inform our modern discourses surrounding consent, intimacy, and violence.
