Isabella Galdone studies nineteenth-century British art and material culture. Her research thus far has focused primarily on female creators associated with the Pre-Raphaelite movement, particularly the painter Elizabeth Eleanor Siddall. Her interests include the intersections and dialogues between painting and material culture, the production and circulation of textiles in the British Empire and Atlantic world, and discourses surrounding women’s labor and consumerism in the nineteenth-century British garment industry.
