Elena Adasheva-Klein is a doctoral student in Sociocultural Anthropology at Yale University. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of environmental anthropology and Indigenous studies in postsocialist Russia. Her PhD research explores human-environment relations as mediated by the state in Siberia. 

Elena holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Studio Art from Hunter College of the City University of New York. She was an Eva Kastan Grove Fellow at the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute and Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
