On Tuesday May 16, Ambassador Niculin Jäger, Consul General of Switzerland in New York, and his deputy Dr. Steve Tharakan were welcomed by Carly Koebel and Christina Andriotis of the European Studies Council at the MacMillan Center at Yale. During the visit, the Swiss delegation learned about the various research and teaching activities of the MacMillan Center, the European Studies Council, and the larger Yale community.
Conversations focused on Yale’s efforts to meet pressing global challenges with cutting-edge academic research, and its role in providing training and education to future policy makers. Both sides explored avenues for cooperation to promote those objectives. A walking tour of Old Campus and visit of the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library concluded the visit.
The meeting between the Swiss delegation and the Yale MacMillan Center was facilitated by Moritz Bondeli. A native of Bern, Switzerland, Mr. Bondeli is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at Yale and European Studies Graduate Fellow.
