February 8, 2024

In the 2023 Friedrich Alexander Universität (FAU) academic awards, Professor Fatima El-Tayeb was recognised for her special contribution to expanding international collaboration between Yale University and Friedrich Alexander Universität (FAU) in research and teaching. Professor El-Tayeb was appointed FAU Ambassador as a representative of the United States and Yale University in efforts to build a bridge between the two research institutions. At Yale, her work focuses on Ethnicity, Race & Migration and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and her role as a FAU Ambassador will further involve her expertise in the key research priority of cultural values, religions and human rights.

Her work as an Ambassador will further aim at providing a plurality of European identity narratives so that the perspectives and memories of all population groups are represented. We are excited to see how the relations between Yale and FAU continue to grow in the future!
