Pierre is a PhD candidate in the History of Art Department. His research focuses primarily on the intersections of arts and sciences and the circulation of knowledge in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century Europe. He is currently completing his dissertation, which explores the study, practice, and history of perspective in early-modern Britain and its empire.

Prior to joining Yale, Pierre received a joint M.A. in Art History from Université Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne and Columbia University. In 2022, he curated the online exhibition “William Hogarth’s Topographies” for the Lewis Walpole Library at Yale. Among his publications, he recently co-edited an anthology of Jean-Claude Lebensztejn’s writings on film (Propos filmiques, Paris, Éditions Macula, 2021) and is the co-editor of a special issue of the peer-reviewed journal Écrans on “William Hogarth and cinema” (forthcoming April 2024).
