Chloe Papadopoulos is a third-year Ph.D. student in the department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. She received an H.B.A. and M.A in Russian Language and Literature at the University of Toronto, where she specialized in nineteenth-century Russian literature with a focus on Dostoevsky. She is currently in the process of preparing her dissertation prospectus, which she will defend in Spring 2019. Her dissertation will consider Russian historical fiction, drama, and sculpture, with a focus on its reception in newspapers and the periodical press of the 1860s. Her research interests also include gendered models of communication in nineteenth-century Russian literature.
